2008 Crane & Rigging Workshop

2DM Associates president David Duerr, P.E. conducts lectures and training sessions on various aspects of heavy lifting and rigging. Past lectures have covered below-the-hook rigging, lifting with telescopic hydraulic gantries, barge-mounted mobile cranes, multiple-crane lifts, and crane loads, mats and ground bearing. Lectures can be tailored in both content and time to fit a client's needs. Talks have been given for industry groups, individual companies, and for civil engineering students.

David Duerr presented sessions on Load Spreading and Multi-Crane Lifts for Flatiron Construction's in-house crane and rigging training program June 27 and 28, 2017 and on Load Spreading and Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices at Industrial Training International's Advanced Rigging & Lifting Workshop held in Houston April 23 and 24, 2015.


Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering

Industrial Training International (ITI) of Woodland, Washington, launched in early 2015 the first and only comprehensive online program in rigging engineering. David Duerr, P.E. is one of the instructors in this program, teaching courses on load spreading under mobile cranes, below-the-hook lifting devices, and telescopic hydraulic gantry systems.
