Lectures and Training

2DM Associates president David Duerr, P.E. (ret.) conducted lectures and training sessions on various aspects of heavy lifting and rigging. Lectures have covered below-the-hook rigging, lifting with telescopic hydraulic gantries, barge-mounted mobile cranes, multiple-crane lifts, and mobile crane support (calculation of crane loads, design of mats, and ground bearing pressure evaluation). Talks have been given for construction industry groups, individual companies, and for civil engineering students.

Industrial Training International (ITI) of Woodland, Washington, launched in early 2015 the first and only comprehensive online program in rigging engineering. David Duerr, P.E. (ret.) is one of the instructors in this program, teaching courses on load spreading under mobile cranes, below-the-hook lifting devices, and telescopic hydraulic gantry systems.
